Specialized Programs

We are proud to share the amazing enrichment opportunities available at Flamingo Elementary School. These programs help students build leadership, creativity, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills while exploring new interests.

Science Specials

Our Science Specials program gives students opportunities to dive into hands-on experiments, STEM challenges, and scientific exploration. Students engage with physical science, life science, and earth science concepts in a fun, interactive setting with Scientist Shay. From building simple machines to observing natural phenomena, this program sparks curiosity and nurtures future scientists and problem-solvers.

Below is an overview of the clubs and specials offered for students in Grades K–5:

Garden Club

Our Garden Club gives students hands-on experience with nature and environmental responsibility. Members learn how to plant, water, and care for fruits, vegetables, and flowers while discovering the importance of sustainability. Students also explore topics like composting, healthy eating, and caring for our school’s outdoor spaces. This club fosters teamwork and a sense of pride as students watch their hard work grow! Our club sponsors are Ms. Morin and Ms. DeVarona.

S.A.V.E Promise Club

The SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Promise Club focuses on creating a safe and inclusive school community. Students participate in activities and campaigns that promote kindness, inclusion, friendship, and leadership. Through schoolwide initiatives, students learn how their actions can make a positive impact and help maintain a supportive environment for all. Our club sponsor is our guidance counselor Ms. DeSalvo.

Debate Club

The Debate Club helps students develop confidence in speaking, listening, and reasoning. Members learn how to build strong arguments, practice public speaking, and participate in structured discussions on student-friendly topics. This club encourages critical thinking, respectful communication, and leadership skills that support success in and out of the classroom. Our club Sponsor is Ms. Comas.

National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)

We are also proud to offer the Elementary National Elementary Honor Society for eligible students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, responsibility, service, and leadership. NEHS members participate in service projects, leadership activities, and academic enrichment opportunities that help them grow as role models within our school.

Arts at Flamingo

Flamingo Elementary has an amazing Performing Arts Club where students can explore their creativity and develop their talents as performers. Within this club, students have the opportunity to act, sing, dance, and participate in stage productions, building confidence and self-expression along the way. Beyond performance skills, students also learn teamwork, discipline, and public speaking, which helps them succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Arts at Flamingo fosters a supportive and fun environment, encouraging students to take risks, discover new talents, and celebrate their accomplishments through exciting showcases and school events.
